In response to many requests from our property owner community, we have established a PayPal non-profit account that will allow a property owner from any computer, located anywhere with internet access to pay dues, fees, and brush cutting charges using our website.
Because we have more than one charge, i.e., multiple lots, fees for late payments and various brush cutting fees based on lot size, we decided to implement a schedule of payment where $1.00 of charges to a property owner, regardless of the type of charge is classified as one unit.
When an individual gets an invoice (bill); an example being the standard $55.00 dues for one lot, then that would be considered 55 units for purposes of payment. The cost of a unit is $1.04. The property owner would select 55 units on the payment page (update quantity) which would calculate a total charge of $57.20. (The $2.20 extra is for the fees the association is charged by PayPal to process the transaction.)
When the property owner clicks the continue button after selecting the number of “units” they will see the select payment page where they will choose the credit card or PayPal account to complete the transaction. After choosing your payment method and selecting continue you will see your "Shipping Information", (your contact information) and under this a "Note to Seller"* . This is where you will enter your invoice numberand any other information you would like to include with your payment up to 230 characters. Once you complete this and verify all your information, payment amount and contact information, you would click the Pay Now button at the bottom of the screen.
*Note: This is an important part of the transaction so as to direct the monies paid to the proper invoice.
Other Examples:
$20 late fee = 20 units x 1.04 for a total of $20.80
$21 brush cutting fee = 21 units x 1.04 for a total of $21.84
$110 dues for two lots = 110 units x 1.04 for a total of $114.40
The PayPal account does not cost the association any monthly fees and the only charges to the association are for processing the transactions of a property owner when they pay using PayPal on the website. Our account is in the no monthly fee standard non-profit category with a lower than standard business percentage fee. We pay a percentage plus 30 cents per transaction for any amount paid.
